About me!

SO! Pretty much because I haven't blogged since starting university (almost two years ago) I thought I'd give you all (whoever you are) an insight into me. Here goes.

I found these 100 questions online so I'll answer those, as always if you want to know anything more just ask :P

  •      100 Things About Me
  • ·      What is your name?  Emma-Charlotte, Emma, Em, E, or anything you say when looking at me really.
  • ·      How old are you? 23 :(
  • ·      Are you sure? Sadly
  • ·      What is your earliest memory? Probably something involving my dog... I remember my mum coming to pick me up from primary school with Remy (my old dog) and Rem eating apples from the floor. But I have no idea if that is my earliest, it’s my earliest right now. I was around 6/7?
  • ·      What is your favorite alcoholic drink? A good old pint, yum, Coors Light please is anyone is buying;-)
  • ·      What is your favorite vegetable? Mushroom probably
  • ·      Do you remember your first day at school? Nope
  • ·      What is the worst exam result you remember ever getting? U – oh sociology A Level <3
  • ·      How tall are you? 5ft 9 apparently, but I used to be 5ft 11, so god only know what happened there.
  • ·      Can you swim? Hell yes I can!
  • ·      Who is your favorite movie actress? Who doesn’t like Scarlett Johansson?
  • ·      Who is your favorite movie actor? Jeremy Renner
  • ·      Who is your favorite comedian? Jason Manford or Russell Howard
  • ·      Who is your favorite politician? None, at all, ever!
  • ·      Who is your favorite historical figure (been dead for at least 100 years)? Florence Nightingale probably, gotta’ give props to the woman who made my future profession what it is really.
  • ·      Who is your favorite super-heroine? Cat Woman!!!
  • ·      Who is your favorite super-hero? Hawkeye.
  • ·      Can you name a female scientist other than Madame Curie? Sadly right now, no… only fictional ones – Gillian Foster, Temperence Brennan ;-)
  • ·      Who is your favorite mythological god or goddess? Loki… There is a story behind it.
  • ·      Who is your favorite woman of all time? My mum… She kind of links in with whole Loki story… If my mum was a descendant from ANY god, it would have to be Loki, she’s a little tricky trickster she is.
  • ·      Do you agree with "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth”? I don’t believe in EVER purposely hurting another person. “Can’t we all just get along!?”
  • ·      Do you agree with "Life does not forgive weakness"?  Not at all. Fucking idiots.
  • ·      Do you agree with "It is the enemy who can truly teach us to practice the virtues of compassion and tolerance”? Yes, I suppose I do; however I hadn’t heard this saying until just now.
  • ·      Do you agree with "The state can do what they want to do"? Fuck no. Fuck no!
  • ·      Do you agree with "If I had to choose between betraying my country and betraying my friend, I hope I should have the guts to betray my country”? My country can handle its self, probably wouldn’t notice me betraying it anyway. I think I do with most of the antimonarchical things I say anyway, so yes. Yes I do. My friends are mine, all of them know that when the begin a friendship with me, I would happily die protecting them. Bitches be warned.
  • ·      Do you agree with "If the path be beautiful, let us not ask where it leads"? Yes, yes I do. Follow what makes you happy, and fuck others if they can’t support that.
  • ·      Do you agree with "Crime is a product of social excess"? I have no idea what that even means…
  • ·      Do you agree with "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"? No… believe in always treating people well. As annoying it is to be treated like dirt, it doesn’t hurt you to smile, and treat people nicely. Again “Why can’t we all just get along?”
  • ·      Do you agree with "And mankind is naught but a single nation"? Erm… No?
  • ·      Do you agree with "Bulimia is soooo '87"?  I agree that Bulimia is an illness, and refuse to pass judgement.
  • ·      What is the worst movie you have ever seen? Drive with Ryan Gosling. Oh my word, it’s fucking awful!
  • ·      What is the worst TV show you have ever seen? Probably something I love watching now. The first season of Blue Bloods was pretty terribly produced, however I love it now.
  • ·      What is the worst book you have ever read? I have read a lot of shit. I read a book recently called Blaze, and even though I didn’t 100% like how it read, I still downloaded the sequels and read those. So worst probably, but it was still a good read. I don’t know.
  • ·      What is the worst song you have ever heard? Erm…. I heard a song when I first started university where the DJ guy just shouted Majestic over it for the entire song. That was pretty shit. I stood for the entire song looking around confused as to how my life had turned out.
  • ·      What is the worst sport you know of? Cricket, definitely fucking cricket.
  • ·      Who is the worst movie "star" ever? Erm… Probably someone who has been found to have done something awful, I have no idea who though.
  • ·      Who is the worst comedian ever? I don’t like watching Sarah Millican – but that doesn’t mean she is bad to everyone.
  • ·      Who is the worst author ever? Awww. I don’t want to say anyone, everyone is talented in their own way L
  • ·      Who is the worst musical act ever? Justin Bieber is scum, but I like some of this music, so shoot me. (I wonder if I’ll receive any hate comments from Bieber fans.)
  • ·      Who is the worst sport’s "star" you have ever seen? Who was that wrestler, who killed his wife and kid then himself, he was kind of a dick.
  • ·      If you could go back in time to witness an historical event in person, what event would you want to see?  Ooooo that is a tough one. I have no idea, there are so many things I would like to have been present for, but I wouldn’t have been able to stand idly by and do nothing.
  • ·      If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? Las Vegas, please. Anyone want to take me?
  • ·      If you could meet anyone in the world, whom would you meet? Charles Trippy probably, right now. He’s a fucking inspiration. To me at least.
  • ·      If you could become famous for one thing, what would that thing be? Probably music, I love to sing, I have no idea if I am any good, but I would have loved to do something with that. More realistically, I’d like to be famous for curing cancer (that little twat of a disease)
  • ·      If you could buy anything regardless of cost, what would you buy? Physical possestions aren’t really what I’d spend my money on if I had barrels of it. But I’d spend it making memories, going out with friends, holidays, etc. But I would really like a bigger memory iPhone, I don’t have enough space for all of my music.
  • ·      If you could change any one thing about your country, what would it be? Its roads probably, how un-profound of me. But seriously you try doing the drive from Southampton to Liverpool on some of the shitty motorways I have to deal with. Also probably would work on changing the current political party “running” the country. I’d also change the hours of an average working day from 9 – 5 to 10 – 6 (extra hour sleep (y)) I’d also, and this is a big one, I would make it a LAW that all major roads have an extra lane build into them for lorry’s and buses. No one wants to put up with a lorry driving at 50 in the middle lane.
  • ·      If you could change any one thing about international politics, what would it be? I don’t know a lot about politics, sometimes I forget my address… So you know.
  • ·      If you could meet any famous person who is dead, who would it be? Ooooo, this is a hard one. A lot of people who I look up too are deceased… But… probably Florence Nightingale, to get her opinion on nursing as it is today.
  • ·      If you could become dictator of the world, would you? Yes, of course, who wouldn’t want that? I think I’d be a good world leader ;-)
  • ·      If you could eat an entire cow at one sitting, would you? No, oh god no.
  • ·      Have you ever illegally downloaded music/TV shows/movies from the net? Is that a trick questions. All I am going to say is; hi I’m Emma.
  • ·      Have you ever used illegal narcotics (yes, even pot counts if it was illegal at the time)? Nope, never, ever, and I don’t think I ever would.
  • ·      Have you ever gotten any points on your driving license? Nope. Not yet…
  • ·      Have you ever stolen anything from a shop? Yes… awks.

  • ·      Have you ever tried to cheat the taxman/social security/other government agency? Erm…  I guess you could say that.

  • ·      Have you ever been arrested? Nope
  • ·      Have you ever been charged with a crime? Nope.
  • ·      What's the furthest you've ever been from home? Las Vegas, marginally. America is the furthest I have ever been from home. But I live 300 miles from my home right now, so that’s pretty far.
  • ·      Where have you visited that you would like to go back to? Vegas baby! I need to go back, April 2016 I hope.
  • ·      Where would you like to visit that you haven't yet? I would love to go to Australia and travel, or to Dubai.
  • ·      Where is your favorite place in the world? Liverpool, my home.
  • ·      Where have you visited that you hope never to go to again? I don’t think I have a place I would want to go again, only people I wouldn’t want to go there with.

  • ·      What was the last movie you saw? Ohhh, that is a tough one… I have no clue. I went to see Captain America in the cinema last time I was at home, but that was 6 weeks ago. I’m sure I have watched a film since, but I have no idea.
  • ·      Was it any good? Probably, Captain America was amazing.
  • ·      What was the last book you read? ‘I call him Brady’ – K.S. Thomas
  • ·      Was it any good? Yeah, actually I really liked it.
  • ·      What was the last song you listened to? Jaws on the Floor – You Me At Six, but I am currently listening to Alone In This Bed – Framing Hanley
  • ·      Was it any good? Both songs are amazing.
  • ·      What was the last computer game you played? Oh fuck my life, as if I can remember that. Probably the Sims if that counts.

  • ·      Do you believe in aliens? Sure thing, why the hell now.
  • ·      Do you agree with the theory of evolution? YES!

  • ·      Do you agree with the theories of man-induced global warming? I guess so.
  • ·      Do you believe in democracy above all other systems of government? Oh god this is getting deep, I have no idea.
  • ·      Do you agree with Freddie Mercury when he sings "Fat-bottomed girls you make the rockin' world go round"? Ha, maybe I do. Yeah.

Liifee

So hello all,

Just thought I would pop in to say... howdy... My keyboard is a gimboid so please allow for numerous spelling mistakes.

How is everyone?

Below is an update, of my life over the past week or so.

WORK:
I'm still off work, still not feeling 100%; chest is still bad, still coughing, not sleeping - which of course is amazing... Not.

UNI:

I went down to Southampton for an open day at uni on Thursday. It was amazing, if I wasn't excited before - which I was - I most definitely am now.

We got loads of information, about the course and stuff. There is a Facebook group which I have joined which is especially for the nursing students of 2012 starting at soton uni :D

We started the day off with an introduction from some of the tutors, and it’s good to put names to faces and see who it is that will be teaching us.

Then we had a lecture from the director of programmes, she was FASCINATING. She talked about the changes a woman's body undergoes just before giving birth, which of course I knew from college but still I was amazed.

We were then given the chance to ask some students already on the course, and some that had just graduated some questions, and because I didn’t have a pen and paper at the point I have to take notes on my phone, which made me feel terrible like I wasn’t listening.

After that we had a little break, and then went back in. We had the most interesting lecture ever, which was an interactive learning session, were us, as the audience got to direct how a scene played out. I am so interested in this become part of my every week learning!

We then had our lunch and a session aptly named simman took place. This is - as it sounds - all about simulations. We sat down and watched as current nursing students treated a patient named Sam. He of course wasn't real but he was basically a dummy. It is strange calling him that as he's so sophisticated, and genuinely a state of the art piece of equipment.

After that we split into smaller groups and really got to know each other, we had to do a task called daily mail, where we picked out a headline and had to analyse it and document why we felt the way we did about it and so on.

All in all, it was a fantastic day. I met some amazing people, whom I simply cannot wait to meet again.

HOME:

So not much has been happening at home lately, Bella has been ill over the past few days, and she is so sleepy, which is sad, but I’m sure she will be okay.

EVERYTHING ELSE:

Just started to read that 50 Shades of Grey, and my my it isn’t what I expected at all. People talk about it all the time so I wanted to read it so I could say, well actually no it’s terrible, but it really isn’t.

If you don’t want to know what happens do not read what’s below in green:

It is basically about a young woman, who does an interview with a billionaire and falls madly in love with him, the 3 books are all about the challenges that their relationship faces. Of course as most people will know the book is based strongly around Christian Grey’s obsession with BDSM (BD (Bondage & Discipline), DS (Dominance & Submission), and SM (Sadism & Masochism). Now when people described the book to me, I thought it was all going to be about this, and be filthy, now it does have its moments but of course, most relationships are about sex. It is nowhere near as detailed and rude as I expected it to be, which makes the fast that my mother is reading it a lot easier. The book isn’t about sex, it’s about love, and the sacrifices people will make for those who they love. And it’s a really nice series of books to read. A friend commented yesterday and said that I’d funnier since I’ve read it. And him himself has read it and said it gave him an insight on how women feel, and Anastasia is just a normal woman when she meets him.

I think the book needs to be given a chance by people, men and women so that they can judge it on how it is written not, what it touches on ever so lightly. Personally I think a high five should go to the author. So E. L. James any chance of getting this arranged?

 ...

As you may know, my best friend graduated last week, I’m so insanely proud of her, she has come so far, and to think she has changed and grown so much from the girl I used to know in school, she’s grown into a fantastic powerful, strong and inspiring young lady, and I really think that if anyone is capable of world domination it’s her. I love this girl with all my heart, and I no longer just see her as my friend, she’s like a sister to me, and I know that no matter what I need she will always be there. Danielle, I’m proud of you, I know I’ve said it a million times but it is true, you are an inspiration, never forget that. – I’m likely to get punched for writing that, but I don’t care. This is my blog, and somewhere I can come to rant and rave and be passionate about people and things that matter to me. And yes D you are one of them people who matters.

I finished college a few weeks ago and went on Friday to pick up my results, which I am very very happy with, so I decided to reward myself, I’ve bought myself, THE most fabulous Pauls Boutique bag – picture below. I purposely picked it out that that it is big enough to hold all of my uni stuff when I’m heading in for a lecture.

There isn’t anything else I can really write about, please feel free to follow me on twitter if you aren’t already, and to of course comment on here if there is anything you would like
to see me write about.

This makes me laugh --->

For now,

Peace out.

Life update

Well hello all!

After I came home from the graduation, I got an email off the NHS bursaries department to tell me tha I can now apply for my NHS bursary :D, this is a major thing, it basically means that the university have accepted me, and I now need to make he application for my tuition fee's to be paid :D.

I know that no one will care about this, but its major to me.
So I just wanted to give you all an update :D

Wowza! Long time!

Well, hello all.

It has apparently been more than a year since I last blogged? How has it been so long?
I don't exactly know where I am going with this one. Maybe chat on about life in general.

The last time I blogged I was in a bad place, I was down a lot and stuff. Since then, I've started college, made some amazing friends who I don't think I could live without. I'm gonna' dedicate a little section to them and go from there.

To the people who have helped me morph into who I am now, thank you. Without the constant support and the numerous drinks you have supplied me with, I don't know where i would be today. All the laughs we have had have honestly made me so much stronger and helped be get over all the things that where keeping me down, so just a little dedication to you guys.

Thank you!
(To Ray, Claire, Mary, Danielle, Ellie, Rachael, Liam)

Since starting college, I have only really thought about one thing, that's following my dream and going to university. Recently I've been accepted by the amazing University of Southampton, and i am so excited to go there.
Its a beautiful city that totally embodies everything I need around me. The beautiful sea front, and the docks where I can see all the nice big ships coming and going.
The amazing country side (which I know is there I just haven't had chance to find). The perfect city life, including all the shops a girl needs and that amazing nightlife. Southampton has one downfall, and that is that my family and my closest friends cannot come with me, I am looking forward to a nice fresh start and to making new friends and meeting new people, but I will miss what I have here at home. It is only 3 years though, if I miss home that much I can come home at the end of those years.
I've talked about the uni, but not the course. I will be training to be a nurse, those of you who are reading this and know me will know how this profession fits everything I've ever wanted in life. Recently through work I've realised that not a lot will drive me to do well, money doesn't anyway. What does make me happy, and what does drive me is helping people, not in any way what so ever, in all ways.
Those of you know don't know me, probably won't care either way, but thank you anyway for reading about my boring life :).

Like I said I don't know where I was going with this one, its really just to catch up with how things are in my life... pretty awesome if you ask me.

As always I need to say that my friends and my family are my life, I've gotten through so much thanks to them and them alone. So thank you all for that.

I will write again soon. VERY soon!

:)
EmzieChar  - Oh yes, I've got a new nickname now, this is what I will refer to myself as at the end of my posts.

Ramdon Ramblings

Well hello everyone!
Hoping all is well!

I haven't blogged in a little while, since i seen Russell Howard.
No much has happened over here in EmzieLand.

I didn't update last time, but I'm now single. I will go back to referring to my self as a triangle, Singular.. i don't know why, i said it years ago and it has stuck.

Finally after two years i have realised that J is a tool, and I'm better without him, to the relief of many of my friends.
Yes, i have met a boy already. Nothing to report, He's nice. JUST FRIENDS. We've been on two dates, he's lovely, quiet (unlike me) and seems to be a gentleman. Which if I'm honest i think i deserve.
:)

Its hard to remember everything i have done since my last blog but I'll give it a go. I promise to get committed to writing on here more than a few times a month.
If you read it could you please just comment, or like my post on facebook or anything...

I've been ill again since my last post, i think i was ill then too. But I'm back in work, after my hearing i got a first written warning for sickness too.. :( sad times but oh well I'm not going to feel bad for being off ill i cant help it.

Last night i went to see Senses Fail with my oldest friend Danielle :) she is definitely my best friend there is a reason we have been friends for 16 years, and my pal Chelsea, it was epic, just the whole night was amazing, started off with a few drinks in our favorite pub in Liverpool town centre, Scream (The Hope and Anchor) Amaze!, in there me and Danielle had a few drinks (4 each, 2 shots for me) and some food, i had Lasagne, playing it safe because i know i like it so i didn't want to have something i wasn't sure on, with cheesy garlic bread, Danielle had....... a burger i think... with chips or something, Bad friend i don't even pay attention!

We then moved on to a pub called The Picture House, in here we met Chels, had a few more drinks. Now i would like to point out this place is quite great. The bar men are a bit pervy but you know, who isn't these days. Danielle got kissed by a very drunk over 60 years old man. :) this made us laugh. We where doing all we could to get free shots of the barmen.
This was a laugh, us co-ordinating cleavages in the toilets and trying to take pictures of Chelsea mid wee, was comical. The shots where sweet flavoured, mmmm, Pear drop, M&M, Jellybean, Drumstick, and more but i cant remember them. They where nice! We had about 6 shot roughly, i really don't remember.

We then headed over to the venue for the gig. Getting there just in time! Amazing!!!!!! Senses fail, I've been waiting for them to get over here for about 4 years? And it was worth it, had another drink, had a jump about, Chelsea got pushed over, then someone stood on her head:') Funny as, at the end we all got hugs of the sexy guitarist, and then we headed home, stopping for food, and so Danielle could lay on the floor. Pictures are on my faceboook :').
Great night!

We've booked tickets to go and see Slam Dunk again this year, haven't missed a year yet! 4 years running, This year's line up just got amazing, Framing Hanley, InnerPartySystem, Reel Big Fish! Ooft! gonna be amazing.

Also found out last night that the blackout and mayday parade and playing HUB this year, £8 a ticket for the weekend. Gonna be great!

My birthday is coming up! 26/03! cant wait!!!!
Gonna be 20teen! :D

The left over excitement of last night plus some exciting news......

Hello!
Haven't written a proper blog in a while, I hope everyone is well? Yes? Good, i'll continue.

I haven't blogged in a while so i have lots to say, i'm going to give things a little heading :)

College!
I finally got my letter for college, I'm officially into the admissions process for my course! It's very exciting, and it looks like things are picking up! I did the first stage yesterday, an exam (they call it a skills check) for Maths and English, i think it went well. Didn't really struggle, but seeing as i've been speaking English for 19 (20 in 37 days) years, and been working in a bank for the past 4 years it should have been easy. I felt really good walking back from the college, i got the bus for the 1st time in 2 years since i passed my driving test, and i've kinda' missed it. Was rather enjoyable, except for it being £1.80... Pfft? Whats that all about, the bus was going that was anyway whether i got it or not... Rip off i thinks. It was enjoyable sitting there listening to music, not having to think about driving :) I could get used to it :)

Scouse!
Mmm Yum Yum!
Yes scouse,  thats what i made for tea yesterday, it looks gorgeous and smelt it too, i didnt get to eat any because when i came home it had been all eaten up. Which in my eyes is a great sign :)

Daddy!
My daddy has been waiting for months to find out whether or not he is going to be made redundant (good thing) Yesterday was the day! I knew it would be i had this feeling that it was going to be the day, and i was right!
He called me up and told me to stop cooking the scouse (was too late at that point, it was very much in the process of being cooked..) because he was taking us all out for tea. Which meant he got the letter, he sounded so happy, i nearly cried. This is why things are picking up finally the Holland family are getting their own way!
Anyway, we didnt end up going out for a mean cause i had plans, so we're going to do it when he finished for good! 31st March 2011 baby!!
- I'll be gutted when he's off work constantly cause it means he's home and i cant just chill out with hollywood undead on really loud-

Russell Howard!
Thats right bizzaches, i went to see Mr. Russell Howard last night. He's so funny, helps that he isnt bad to look at!
Had a great time, with Katie, Danielle and Abbie. Few little drinkies and a laugh, just want you need really isnt it?
He's a comical genius! When he makes himself laugh and he can't go on to tell the joke, thats the best:) i could tell some of the jokes he did, but it would have the same effect - As i have learnt with people just looking at me blankly today when i was telling them-
Great night, and i would see him again, happily.

Framing Hanley Announced For Slam Dunk 2011!
This is the best news i have had all year (yes i'm aware its only February)
These are possibly one of my top all time bands, and they are playing possibly my favorite festival!
So thats all planned now, i'll be hitting that with my besties! :) Cannot wait, end of may roll on!
If anyone doesnt know who they are see the video:
(thanks to Framing Hanley for distracting me for over 5 minutes!)

Hearing!
Hmph, i had my hearing today in work for my attendance, because i have an unacceptable sickness record.
Went alright actually, find out whats gunna' happen on monday.
